Creative and Beautiful Uses for Wood Flower Garlands at Your Wedding
Plus why faux flower garlands are a must have for budget brides
Flower costs can definitely quickly take over your wedding decor budget. Bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces...so I completely get why the lush floral garlands might be the first thing you cross off you list when you're trying to keep costs down. But a garland or two are completely worth the extra bit in your budget, especially when you consider faux garlands with sola wood flowers.
Here are my favorite ways to use garlands and why they can actually save you money:
🌹1. Decorate Your Ceremony Site - Garlands look gorgeous fastened to an arch or huppah, draped across an alter or table or even laid on the ground by your feet or lining the aisles for your guests. You often work so hard to bring the wedding color palette and vibe to our reception, so using garlands at the ceremony is simple way to make your nuptials colorful and vibrant.
🌹2. Dress Up Your Tables - Whether it's a farmhouse table or a circular table for 8, you
can use garlands to create an beautiful look. The garland itself can be the centerpiece and you can nestle candles throughout or you can even circle the garland up and create a ring around lanterns, candles or other centerpieces. With even just a single garland, you can dress up the bar, entrance table with place cards or your dessert table.
🌹3. Design the Sweetheart Table of your Dreams - What table is the most important? Yours, of course! If one table is going to be fabulous, let it be your sweetheart table. A garland across the front with your bouquet nestled on top or in a vase will really make your table look extravagant. Add a second garland at the base of the table, add a few lanterns and faux candles or even use your bridesmaids' bouquets in mason jars for a show stopping sweetheart table
🌹4. Wrap It - Yes, it sounds crazy but it's not. Wrap it around your welcome sign, wrap it around a column, pole or bannister, wrap it around yourself like a flowery boa (ok that one was crazy but after a few drinks🤷🏼♀️).
Now that you've got my favorite garland uses in head, you're still wondering how can this actually save you money. I got you, don't worry. Remember faux garlands with wood flowers last so...
💸 2 uses for the price of 1 - Use it at your ceremony then move to your reception.
💸 After the wedding, use it to decorate a mantle, shelf, doorway or sign in your home. More than 1 garland? Gift to relatives and friends or even sell them online.
💸 Repurpose baby! Flower Crowns & Wreaths come to mind. Grab your girls and wrap them around wire wreath forms from @thedollartree to have beautiful door wreaths or cut them and add ribbon to make adorable flower crowns for girls night out, your kids or a photo shoot. I bet you can even think of other ways to repurpose.
💸 Save it for your Maternity Shoot & Newborn Shoot & Baby's Room - How sweet and sentimental would it be to have the garland from your wedding captured in these moments?! Wrapped around your belly (and a flower crown would be cute here too), then make a circle with the garland to surround your bundle of joy and finally, if you have a girl, how sweet with the garland be hung on the wall over her name. Why didn't I do this in my baby girl's room?!
Have other ideas for a garland? I'd love to hear how you used or might use one in your wedding or home.
